Maya Anthony
3rd Grade Teacher
What a blessing it is to be a part of the St. John’s community! Miss Anthony graduated from Winona State University in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She attended a Catholic elementary school as a child and developed a strong love and passion for teaching at such an early age. She is so thankful to be living out her vocation as a teacher here at St. John the Baptist! Although Miss Anthony is a new teacher, she has spent many years working with children in various childcare settings all the way from infants to high schoolers. When she is not teaching, you can find her going on hikes, enjoying the outdoors, taking road trips, hammocking, spending time with family and friends, and being out on the lake! Miss Anthony looks forward to meeting you!
Leah Madson
3rd Grade Teacher
Ms. Madson grew up in Fargo, North Dakota, where she graduated from Shanley High School. She went on to the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, where she received her bachelor’s degree in English Language Arts. Ms. Madson spent a year as a Seton Teaching Fellow in New York City where she supported teachers and taught catechism, and she fell in love with education. She taught third grade at the same school the following year before moving to Minnesota to be closer to family.
Ms. Madson is excited to bring her love of English and love of learning to SJB this year as she teaches ELA and science. Outside of school, she loves reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
