Jennifer Carroll
6th-8th Grade Dean of Students, 8th Grade Social Studies
Jennifer Carroll is very excited to be teaching 6th and 7th grade science and 8th grade social studies, as well as electives offered to all middle school students. She is eager to once again lead the annual 8th grade Washington D.C. trip. She has been a teacher at St. John’s since 1997 and loves working with middle schoolers. She and her husband, John, have two children, Austin and Madison. While she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time at her cabin in Henning, MN, hanging out with her kids, reading books, and just relaxing.
Bridget Troxel6th-8th Grade Science
Mrs. Troxel has been teaching since 2014 as a substitute teacher throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area and began at St. John’s in 2018. She has developed a love and passion for middle school over that time and is looking forward to working with the middle school at St. John’s. Mrs. Troxel grew up as a camp counselor and being outdoors year round. Mrs. Troxel and her husband are constantly on the go with their two young children. When not at school, you’ll find her baking, spending time with extended family, camping, taking pictures, and enjoying the outdoors.
Madeleine Fink
6th-8th Grade Language Arts
Miss Fink grew up in New Brighton, attending Saint Anthony Village High School. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. She graduated in the spring of 2021 with a BA in English Education. Miss Fink has previously subbed and taught summer school in the Bismarck area before moving back home to New Brighton. In her spare time, Miss Fink enjoys drawing, painting, reading books, taking her dog Reese for walks, and spending time with friends and family.
Stephen Steffl
6th-7th Grade Social Studies, 7th-8th Grade Religion
Stephen Steffl grew up on a dairy farm near the town of Sleepy Eye in southern Minnesota. After high school, he attended St. John’s University in Collegeville and the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. Mr. Steffl has three brothers, three nieces, and one nephew. He has been teaching middle school social studies and religion at St. John the Baptist School since 1990. In his free time, he enjoys visiting with family and friends, traveling, going to movies, reading and playing sports such as basketball, tennis and swimming.
Jeanne Dompierre
6th-8th Grade Math
Mrs. Dompierre received her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota-Mankato with a BS in elementary education and a minor in special education. She earned her Middle School Certification in the areas of math, English, social studies and life science. She then earned her Masters of Education in Technology through Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. Mrs. Dompierre taught at two other Catholic schools before coming to St. John the Baptist. In 2000, Mrs. Dompierre was awarded the NCEA Distinguished Teacher Award. Her interests include a variety of crafts, Sudoku, puzzles, baking, gardening and reading.
