Mrs. Julie Cruz has been teaching kindergarten at St. John’s since she graduated from St. Catherine with a MAED in 2007. She lives with her husband Mark and three sons in White Bear Lake. Mrs. Cruz loves spending time outdoors, camping, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
“I love teaching kindergarten because 5 year olds bring a sense of wonder and imagination to school. Each day is an exciting adventure to learn! They become readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and so much more! I am looking forward to a joyful year of learning!”
Christine Benson has been teaching kindergarten at St. John’s since 2012. Prior to St. John’s, she taught kindergarten at St. John Vianney in South St. Paul for 14 years. Needless to say, she adores teaching kinders! Their excitement and enthusiasm, along with how much they learn and grow in just one school year, is a wonderful, fun-filled experience.
Mrs. Benson received her B.A. in elementary education from the College of St. Catherine and her M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on reading instruction from the University of St. Thomas. In addition to kindergarten, she has also taught first grade and preschool. In her free time, she enjoys walking, camping (R.V. style!), puzzles, games, and eating out!
Mrs. Benson looks forward to seeing you soon at St. John the Baptist!
