St. John the Baptist Media Center

Mission: The mission of St. John the Baptist Media Center is to cultivate a friendly and helpful environment that provides resources and opportunities that foster effective ideas and lifelong learning skills for students and staff. 

Behavior Expectations:

  • Students in the library are expected to be attentive and respectful during lesson times and use their “inside” voice when conversing with other students. 
  • Students will keep their hands, feet, and other objects (such as shelf markers) to themselves.
  • Students are not allowed to bring food or beverages in the Media Center.
  • Failure to adhere to Media Center behavior rules will result in loss of checkout privileges.

Circulation Policy:
 
  • Kindergarten: One book
    1st Grade – 3rd Grade: Two books (one non-fiction and one fiction)
    4th Grade – 8th Grade: Two books                          
     
    Loan/Renewal Times:
    Easy Fiction and Easy Non-Fiction: One week with a renewal period of one week.
    Fiction and Non-Fiction: Two weeks with a renewal period of one week.
    Audio Books: Two weeks with a renewal period of one week.
    Young Adult: 7th and 8th grade only, two weeks with a renewal period of one week.

    Reference: Overnight only.
     
    If a student/parent has an overdue book, no additional books may be checked out, until the overdue book(s) is/are checked in, renewed, or payment (lost/damaged book) is received.  Lost book fees will be billed through FACTS.
